Joint concert with Nankersey MVC in aid of The Chestnut Appeal
Tuesday 16th April, 2024 - 3:25pm
I know all my colleagues at Mousehole will agree with me that this was a
concert we looked forwards to with high expectations which were
exceeded again and again. It was an evening filled with good music and
humour in a magnificent venue as the two choirs each took turns to sing
separately and then at the end, two pieces by the combined choirs with
the whole thing introduced and the pieces explained by compere Adrian
Wilton whose knowledge of male voice choirs is unrivalled, as is his
inexhaustible collection of jokes and funny stories. The Chestnut Appeal
is a very worthy cause we can all relate to and their work was
explained to us by Lesley-Ann Simpson and Mr Mark Mantle (Consultant
Urologist). Our special thanks must go to the Nankersey Choir Ladies
Committee who excelled themselves in providing an excellent and most
generous spread of refreshments after the singing was done. We also
thank our incredibly hard-working music teams: M.D.s Elaine Tangye,
Steve Lawry and assistant M.D. David Williams, our accompanists Annette
Turton and Mike Uren and flautist Maureen Trevorrow without whom we
would be lost.
