Appearing at the Summer festival (Sunday 7th August at St Mary's Penzance), Faryl sprang to national attention as a 13 year old on ITV’s ‘Britain’s Got Talent’, when Simon Cowell told her she was ‘one in a million’! In the following year, 2009, her first album was the fastest selling debut album ever by a classical artist. She is also the only classical artist ever to go gold within the first week of release of their first album. Not only was she No. 1 in the classical album chart, but also reached No. 4 in the commercial chart.
In 2009 Faryl shared the stage with Jose Carreras at Hampton Court, and Placido Domingo at the Classical Brit Awards, as well as singing at the FA Cup Final, with a TV audience of around 400 million worldwide. She also sang at the Festival of Remembrance and the Royal Variety Show that year.
There have been major events every year since, as Faryl has continued to develop, including working with Gareth Malone, singing at the wedding of Eammon and Ruth Holmes, performing with Russell Watson, with Rhydian on his S4C series, and this year on tour with G4, as they got back together.
Faryl has performed the national anthem at Wembley before the last six Johnstone’s Paint Trophy Finals, as well as a couple of times for both the FA Cup Final and the Community Shield, all shown on Sky Sports or the BBC. She has also performed at different events for Prince Edward and Princess Anne, and sang at Sir Bobby Robson’s memorial service.
In 2012/13 Faryl toured with The International Harp Ensemble as the only singer amongst ‘The Magic of a Thousand Strings’. At her young age Faryl has already sung seven times at the Royal Albert Hall.
Faryl first came to sing with Mousehole MVC in August 2012, and we are thrilled to welcome her back, just a couple of weeks after celebrating her 21st birthday! She will be accompanied by Annette Turton.
