A warm welcome to Christian Semmens

Friday 4th October, 2024 - 3:32pm

Mousehole Male Voice Choir were delighted this week to welcome our latest member to the ranks. Christian Semmens is the third recruit to complete his 13-week probation period in as many weeks and is now joining the bass section of the choir.

The attached photo shows Christian receiving his choir tie and lapel badge from Chairman Brett Farmer to a round of enthusiastic applause from the rest of the choir at the end of our rehearsal last Monday.

Christian has settled into the choir very well and is already a popular member of the bass section, joining just in time to take part in our Paul Feast Concert on 13th October with guests The Celtic Male Ensemble and we hope he will continue to be a part of the choir and the famous “Mousehole sound” for many years to come.

All our rehearsals are "open" and we welcome anyone who wants to come along to Paul Church TR19 6TY between 7.30 and 9.30 pm on Monday evenings to listen to part or all of the rehearsal and if interested in joining, to speak to our MD Stephen Lawry. We currently have one more prospective member going through his probation period and who is expected to become a member next Monday 7th October, when he will take over the mantle of youngest member as he recently turned 16 so this really is open to men of all ages!

In addition to the Paul Feast Concert on 13th October (details available on our website or Facebook pages), we are also looking forwards to paying a visit to Mevagissey on 19th October, a trip to Sherborne to take part in the Bi-Centenary celebrations of the RNLI on 2nd November, a Remembrance concert at Heamoor British Legion on 10th November and then a busy Christmas season to follow that. Carols and Christmas themed songs are already appearing in our rehearsals!
