Sadly missed

The choir are very sorry to hear of the passing of a great friend.
Portia Grant was deputy musical director from 2001 until 2009, during which time she served the choir well.
Portia still came along when her duties as MD at St Buryan MVC allowed, and often helped Annette by page turning.
Although she thoroughly enjoyed the male voice, this was by no means her only music, as she was chapel organist at The Centre in Newlyn, having played in various churches and chapels from a very young age, and before coming west to live had conducted the Crantock Music Makers for many years.
Portia was also a duty organist at the crematorium for many years, and has helped many.
We feel for Ken, her husband, who only left our choir earlier this year as he was struggling getting around venues, but is marvellous for his age. Our thoughts are with him.
